Bayern have been handed a glamorous and challenging first knockout round tie in the 2022/23 Champions League, as the six-time winners of Europe’s top club competition were paired with French champions Paris Saint-Germain in Monday lunchtime's draw for the round of 16. The ceremony was held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland and was conducted by UEFA managing director of communications Pedro Pinto, UEFA deputy general secretary Giorgio Marchetti, and ex-Bayern player Hamit Altintop, ambassador for the final host city Istanbul.
As group winners, the record German champions will be away in the first leg (14/15/21/22 February) with the second leg taking place at the Allianz Arena three weeks later (7/8/14/15 March). The final of this season's competition will be held on 10 June 2023.
