If you weren't in the stadium or missed Joshua Kimmich's rocket live on TV, then hurry up and check out our match highlights! You won't be disappointed. It wasn't vintage Bayern in their first home game of 2023, but the attitude and hunger, particularly in the second half, was plain to see. Following some 25 goal attempts and with 90 minutes on the clock, Bayern's persistance was rewarded, courtesy of a quite brilliant Kimmich goal that secured a 1-1 draw with the visiotrs from Cologne.

Long-range specialists

Kimmich's third goal of the season matches his haul across 28 Bundesliga matches in the previous campaign. It was also further evidence of Bayern's new-found eye for the spectacular. The 27-year-old is the 10th different player to score from downtown for the record champions this term - a league high. Bayern - despite back-to-back 1-1 draws to start the year - boast a four-point lead at the summit at the halfway stage of the 2022/23 campaign. RB Leipzig, who took a point off the defending champions last time out, are their closest pursuers.

Kimmich: We need to talk about the first half

"We definitely need to talk about the first half again, especially in terms of our approach, attitude and desire. The second half was better," opined Kimmich, who ensured Bayern are now unbeaten in 10 Bundesliga matches and 15 in all competitions.

The next objective is to extend that run by taking all three points when Eintracht Frankfurt visit the Allianz Arena on Saturday (18:30 CET) - with or without a worldie from their resident mentality monster.
