Who are the youth players with the first team in Doha?

As was the case in the summer, a number of youth players have also been called up to join the first team and prove themselves in Bayern’s winter training camp in Doha. fcbayern.com introduces the five teenagers accompanying the senior side.

Arijon Ibrahimovic

The 17-year-old attacker, who is in fact no relation to Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, arrived at the FC Bayern Campus from the Nürnberg academy in July 2018 and can play anywhere across the front line. He’s made the majority of his 16 appearances this season for Bayern’s U19s, providing 13 goals and four assists in 14 games across the U19 Bundesliga South/Southwest and in the UEFA Youth League. The Germany U18 international has also had a direct hand in two goals in as many appearances for the Reserves in the Regionalliga.

Lovro Zvonarek

The Croatia U19 international moved to Munich from his homeland last summer and is part of the club’s second team. Zvonarek’s preferred position is in the centre but he can also play out wide in attack. The 17-year-old has four goals and two assists in 17 Regionalliga games this season, while he’s also featured four times in the Youth League.

Yusuf Kabadayi

Kabadayi was born and raised in Munich, joining the Bayern academy in 2012 from Eintracht München. Now 18, he can play out wide or as centre-forward. The Germany U18 international has worked his way through the FCB youth teams and made his debut for the Reserves in 2021. Injury has limited Kabadayi to just seven appearances so far this season, with two goals. He’s featured three times in the Youth League, contributing a goal and an assist each.

Ritzy Hülsmann

Hülsmann joined Bayern from Eintracht Trier in 2017 and has been a part of the Reserves squad as of this season. Standing at two metres tall, he also features regularly for the U19s. The 18-year-old goalkeeper has played three times in the U19 Bundesliga, twice in the Youth League and three times in the Regionalliga this campaign.

Tarek Buchmann

Buchmann has been the captain of the U19s as of this season. The central defender is an important part of the team’s build-up play from the back. The 17-year-old, who has nine caps for Germany’s U17s, has made five appearances this term in both the U19 Bundesliga and Youth League.
