€100,000 for victims of the earthquake
FC Bayern Hilfe eV is donating €100,000 to the "Orienthelfer" organisation to support the victims of the earthquake disaster in the Syrian border region with Turkey. Chairman of FC Bayern Hilfe eV Karl Hopfner handed over a donation cheque to "Orienthelfer" board member Christian Springer at Säbener Straße. The Munich native founded the initiative 12 years ago to improve future prospects in the Middle East, to not only get involved in crises or the issue of refugees in the entire region, but above all to implement sustainable educational projects.
"At the moment, the people in this region need immediate help, and for us at FC Bayern Hilfe eV, it is always an important concern to be able to provide short-term, unbureaucratic and immediate support in emergency situations. The consequences of this once-in-a-century earthquake will continue to affect life in the entire region for a long time to come. Orienthelfer e.V. has been active as an aid organisation in the Middle East for years and so can be relied on to make a big difference quickly," explained Hopfner.
"We are very grateful to FC Bayern for its support. The people affected need clothing, tents, blankets, mattresses, and medical care quickly, and this money will enable us to implement invaluable immediate measures. As our organisation 'Orienthelfer' has been promoting social projects in the region since 2012, we are even able to get to the hard-to-reach areas to help the people there. Thank you very much to everyone who has made a donation," said Christian Springer.
