Thomas Müller wrote his name into the annals once again in Sunday's 4-2 win in Wolfsburg. Playing in his 427th top-flight game, the 33-year-old attacker equalled Gerd Müller's record as the outfield player with the most Bundesliga appearances in FC Bayern history.
Müller has won a staggering 307 of those 427 Bundesliga outings. Only current FC Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn (310) and teammate Manuel Neuer (322) have posted more. More impressive yet is the Bayern No.25's 301 goal involvements in that time: 140 strikes of his own, plus 161 assists.
It's the second time in less than a week that Müller has etched his name into the record books. In the 4-0 triumph over Mainz in the DFB Cup last 16, he made his 63rd appearance in the competition, tying Sepp Maier's club record. His 53 wins, meanwhile, is the new gold standard in the DFB Cup.
