Having beaten Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 on aggregate in the round of 16, FC Bayern will now take on Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the 2022/23 Champions League.
The six-time European champions were paired with the champions of England, coached by former Bayern boss Pep Guardiola, when the draw for the final eight was made at UEFA headquarters in Nyon on Friday lunchtime by UEFA managing director of communications Pedro Pinto, UEFA deputy general secretary Giorgio Marchetti, ex-Bayern player Hamit Altintop, ambassador for the final host city Istanbul, and Patrick Kluivert.
The two legs will be played on 11/12 April and 18/19 April, with UEFA to confirm the exact dates and times in due course.
Quarter-final draw in full:
Real Madrid vs. Chelsea
Benfica vs. Inter Milan
Manchester City vs. Bayern Munich
AC Milan vs. Napoli
The semi-final pairings were also determined immediately after the quarter-finals draw. It means that if Bayern advance against City, they will then face one of Real Madrid or Chelsea for a place in the final in Istanbul on 10 June 2023. The semi-finals are scheduled for 9/10 and 16/17 May.
