"Only FCB will be German champions" rang around most of the Allianz Arena after the final whistle as the players celebrated with the fans. Bayern had just won 4-2 in the top-of-the-table clash against Borussia Dortmund and reclaimed top spot in the Bundesliga. Coach and players were naturally in high spirits afterwards. "Overall it was a very good start with a win. That will give us confidence and desire to improve," said Thomas Tuchel after his first match in charge of the German record champions. fcbayern.com has compiled the rest of the reaction for you.
Dortmund post-match reaction
Herbert Hainer: "The win should've been by a much higher margin in the end. In the first half you saw what the team are capable of. We could've scored six, seven or eight goals. The first goal opened the floodgates, although we had a bit of luck with it. After that we applied tremendous pressure. Thomas is a highly qualified coach who will be good for us. He approaches the job in a very professional way and is doing very well. The 11th title in a row is our clear aim."
Thomas Tuchel: "It was a very good first step, although for me it was too open and frantic. We actually wanted to have more dominance in the opposition half. We started very nervously in the first half. Across the game as a whole we gave the ball away too much, which made the game very hard work. The desire to work without the ball was very high. There are lots of positives but also room for improvement. Everyone was aware of what was riding on the match. The desire to withstand and suffer when something goes wrong was 100 percent there - that's the most important thing. Overall it was a very good start with a win. That will give us confidence and desire to improve."
Thomas Müller: "We had a lot of chances. Overall there was a lot of room for improvement, though. You saw the importance of the match. Being 3-0 up at the break gives you a good feeling. We should've scored three or four more goals. We were extremely hard-working but made life hard for ourselves in possession. But at the end of the day it's the scoreline that counts. We didn't do everything perfectly, but we had the determination and the strength in the tackle. The coach gave us a lot of assurance. We're happy but we still have a lot of work ahead of us."
Joshua Kimmich: "We had a relatively nervous start. You could tell there was a lot riding on the match today. Then we took the lead in fortunate circumstances, but we didn't manage to control the game over 90 minutes. We had enough chances for eight or nine goals, though. We didn't want the game to be so frantic but we didn't manage that, so we had to run after them a few times. Overall we gave the ball away too much. We need more possession."
The reaction from the Borussia Dortmund camp
Edin Terzić (Borussia Dortmund coach): "We know we can regularly rely on Gregor, and we will do in the future. He's obviously hurting. It would be frivolous for me to say that we played well in the first 15 minutes. We just took too long to react to the setbacks and shake them off. That's how it was 3-0 after 22 minutes. We tried again in the second half to change things. It hurts and we'll get on the plane very disappointed. We had high hopes."
Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund captain): "We started well and then concede a silly goal. You have to dust yourselves down first and then you concede the next one from a set piece. Then we're 2-0 down and it's even harder to come back. In the end the scoreline doesn't lie. We deserved to lose. Now we're two points behind. The way we acted in a lot of situations was lousy. We fell into a lot of counters, which is actually unlike us. Bayern used them well and should've even scored one or two more goals. It's not a good night for us."
Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper): "There are just bad days and today was one of them. It hurts a lot. After my mistake we had a crack in our game and were hit badly on the counter. Bayern could've scored even more goals. It'll take a few days but nevertheless we move on."
