It wasn't just in Germany that the weekend's football was dominated by the German record champions, who clinched their 11th Bundesliga title in a row, but in the Middle Kingdom too. In China, where FC Bayern is firmly established with its office in Shanghai, the Chengdu Fan Festival took place on 27 and 28 May. FCB were involved in no less than three events there: the football carnival, the youth camp and a public viewing of the season finale.
Over 100,000 visitors turned up for the football carnival in Chengdu over the course of the weekend and they admired an FC Bayern treble exhibition, an FCB history wall or took part in a skills challenge. At the youth camp, players between the ages of 8 and 12 were able to show what they were capable of at the adidas youth training centre, under the guidance of several FC Bayern coaches, among others.
To round the event off, 400 fans were invited to a public viewing in cooperation with Audi and experienced the last-minute win of the Meisterschale together. The FCB supporters also enjoyed an exciting supporting programme with match analyses and competitions. Public screenings of the game at Köln were held in 23 other Chinese cities on the same day to support Jamal Musiala & Co. in their bid to win the title.
