Lucas Hernández: ‘The feeling is incredible’

Welcome back! Lucas Hernández was able to complete parts of full training again for the first time on Tuesday morning. The France international suffered a torn cruciate in his right knee in November 2022 at the World Cup and has been unavailable to the German record champions since then.

We followed Lucas Hernández in his rehab at Säbener Straße:

"It's very emotional"

"Today was a very important day after five and months out injured," said the 27-year-old FC Bayern central defender happy after the training session: "It's very emotional to be with the team again after a long injury. The feeling at being back with everybody again is incredible."

Hernández had been working on his comeback on his own but now comes the next step returning to the training ground with his teammates. "I've been training every day this week," declared the 2018 World Cup winner who was greeted with a very warm reception from his teammates. "Everybody was happy that I'm back." The defender will at least be in the stands supporting Bayern in the last match of the season away to FC Köln at the weekend: "I'll be travelling with the team to Cologne on Saturday," revealed Hernández.
