FC Bayern thanks Tokyo for hospitality

The Audi Football Summit against Kawasaki Frontale at the National Stadium on Saturday evening marked the end of FC Bayern's stay in Tokyo. As part of this year's Audi Summer Tour, the German record champions have been in the Japanese metropolis since Tuesday. These were eventful days - in addition to intensive training sessions and top-class friendly matches, the Tokyo visit was dominated by intercultural exchange.

Herbert Hainer

"Arigato gozaimasu: On behalf of FC Bayern, thank you very much, Tokyo! It is a fascinating city with open, always deeply friendly people, and not least our two games at the National Stadium with a total of over 110,000 fans were special experiences," said FC Bayern President Herbert Hainer. "We’ll take many wonderful memories and valuable experiences first to Singapore and then back home to Munich."

FC Bayern Kawaski Frontale

As a thank you for the hospitality and a sign of mutual respect, FCB's players ran out against Kawasaki Frontale on Saturday with their names in Japanese characters on their backs. After the game, the Bayern pros took a joint lap of honour with the Kawasaki Frontale players to express gratitude with a thank-you banner.

Next stop Singapore

On Sunday morning local time, FC Bayern will travel on to Singapore. The Munich team will stay until next Wednesday. The Audi Football Summit against Liverpool (Wednesday, 13:30 CEST) will be the final highlight of the tour.
