It was already public knowledge that the reigning German champions would kick off the season on Friday, 18 August (20:30 CEST) at Werder Bremen - now the rest of FC Bayern's opening Bundesliga fixtures have also been confirmed. On Wednesday, the German Football League (DFL) announced the exact dates and timings for Matchdays 1 to 8 in the German top flight. As a result, Thomas Tuchel's side will play their first league home match against FC Augsburg on Sunday, 27 August 2023 at 17:30 CEST.
Three top matches on Saturday evening
They then travel to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday, 02 September, for a prime-time kick-off (18:30 CEST) ahead of the first international break of the season. The record champions continue with two consecutive games in front of their own fans, with the first coming against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Friday, 15 September at 20:30 CEST. This will be followed by a Wiesn home game: on Saturday, 23 September (15:30 CEST), VfL Bochum will be the visitors at the Allianz Arena. The Reds will round off the month with a rematch of this year's DFL Supercup when they travel to RB Leipzig for the matchday's outstanding fixture on Saturday evening, 30 September (18:30 CEST).
The first match in October, against SC Freiburg is scheduled for Sunday, 08 October (17:30 CEST) at the Allianz Arena. Following another international break, the men from Munich will travel to 1.
