No other player has embodied the archetypal goalscorer in the Premier League in recent years more than Harry Kane. The 30-year-old has notched 213 goals in 320 appearances in England’s top flight – second only to Alan Shearer (260 in 441 games) since the competition was founded in 1992.
For now, Kane won’t be able to set about this all-time record as he’ll be wearing the FC Bayern shirt from now on. But given the many other bests that he’s already set, the German record champions’ new number 9 should be able to get over that.
Churning out goals
Kane has been the top goalscorer in the Premier League in three season (2015/16, 2016/17 and 2020/21) – only Thierry Henry has claimed the Golden Boot more times (four). His best seasons in terms of goals were actually 2017/18 and the previous campaign, though, with 30 goals each. No other player has hit the 30-goal mark in two separate Premier League seasons of 38 matches.
He scores where he wants
The England captain holds the record for the most away goals in the Premier League (112) and is also the only player in the league’s history who has a three-digit figure of goals both at home and on the road. That coolness has brought about more than a few goals. Kane had his most prolific year in 2017, when he found the net 39 times in the calendar year, setting a new record in England’s top flight.
More than just a goalscorer
Aside from Andrew Cole (1993/94), Kane is the only player who’s been both the top goalscorer and top provider in a Premier League campaign. The new FCB striker achieved it in the 2020/21 season with 23 goals and 14 assists.
Record man for Spurs…
Kane is Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time highest goalscorer with 280 competitive goals. Since 2014/15, he’s been the Lilywhites’ top marksman in all competitions in every season. What’s more, no other striker in the history of the Premier League has scored so many goals for one and the same club as Kane (213).
…and the Three Lions
With 58 goals in 84 international appearances, Kane is also the England national team’s record goalscorer. Twelve of those have come at World Cups and European Championships – another best among English players. He had his best year in the Three Lions jersey in 2021, when he was on target no fewer than 16 times for his country. Of course, another record!
Feared by all Premier League opponents
Kane has scored at least once against all of the 32 teams he’s faced in the Premier League. No other player has done that in England.
A man for special games
Kane holds the records for the most goals in London derbies (56), on the final day of the Premier League (11) and in the traditional Boxing Day fixture (10).
