FC Bayern have loaned defender Josip Stanišić to Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the season. The 23-year-old Croatia international has played for the German record champions since the U17 level.
FC Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen: "Josip Stanišić joined us at a young age and has matured into a Bundesliga professional and international at FC Bayern. In order to develop further at the highest level, he needs continuous game time. That's why we decided together with him to loan him to Bayer Leverkusen until next summer."
Munich-born Stanišić joined the FC Bayern U17s from SC Fürstenfeldbruck in January 2017. His development over the following years saw him become an option for the first and reserve teams: he has made 41 and 42 competitive appearances respectively for those teams. The defender has scored one goal for the senior pros. He was called up to the Croatian national team in the autumn of 2021 and made the World Cup squad a year later. He currently has 11 caps to his name. With FC Bayern, he has won three Bundesliga titles, the German Supercup twice and the third division championship with the FCB reserves in 2020.
On Saturday, the FC Bayern first team contested the annual Dream Match against a Weinbeisser Kaltern fan club XI:
