FC Bayern München reported record revenue and a significant year-on-year increase in profit in the past financial year. The group's total revenue for the 2022/23 season totalled €854.2 million, while earnings before taxes (EBT) more than tripled, rising from €17.1 million to €54.5 million. As such, the group's net profit for the year rose to €35.7 million, an increase of €23 million compared to the previous season.
Michael Diederich, vice-chairman of FC Bayern München AG: “FC Bayern can once again look back on an extraordinarily successful financial year. In a difficult economic environment characterised by inflation and a recession in Germany, we have achieved a record turnover and a significant increase in profitability compared to the previous season. This result demonstrates our financial strength and raises our equity to a new record level. At the same time, FC Bayern remains debt-free - an exceptional feat in European top-flight football and a further sign of our financial independence.
“With the support of our partners, we were able to achieve significant increases in marketing revenue in sponsorship and merchandising in the past financial year. The high transfer surplus also contributed to the record turnover achieved. Thanks to a balanced cost structure, we were able to keep the personnel cost ratio well below 50%. The good annual result will enable us to triple the dividend from €0.10 to €0.30 per share this year.
“These very good figures are not least thanks to all our colleagues, who give their all for FC Bayern every day. I would also like to thank my colleagues on the Executive Board and the entire Supervisory Board for their collegial and trusting cooperation.”
