There were cheerful conversations and socialising over a game of cards as the Schafkopf tournament exclusively for FC Bayern members has held its second edition. After the presidential Schafkopf made its debut last year in the *1900 clubhouse, the Advent Schafkopf at the FC Bayern Campus enjoyed a large turnout on Monday evening. "There is an incredible sense of togetherness at FC Bayern - and that's what makes FC Bayern so special," explained president Herbert Hainer in his welcoming address. "We want to continue to intensify the dialogue with our members and fans and let them participate in the life of FC Bayern - and there are always good opportunities to exchange ideas at the card table."
Around 40 members were selected from over 350 registrations. In addition to the competitors, but of course right in the middle of it all, were 10 representatives of the German record champions. As well as president Hainer, first vice-president Professor Dr Dieter Mayer, former president Karl Hopfner, FCB legend Raimond Aumann, Allianz Arena managing director Jürgen Muth and the long-standing head of the women's football department, Karin Danner, took a seat at one of the tables and sought dialogue with the members.
Up to 300 kilometres journey for a special evening
Some members had travelled up to 300 km to attend despite the adverse weather conditions - much to the delight of the president. Among the various dialogue formats such as regular Stammtische and workshops that have been established over the past two years, Schafkopf is one of his favourites, Hainer revealed: "I really enjoy playing, and it's always a good opportunity to get to know each other."

A good three and a half hours of intense play, discussion, and lots of laughter. First place, and with it a signed home jersey, went to member Johannes Jäger ahead of Thomas Lockinger and Martin Brückner. Whether on the podium or not, the event left everyone wanting more. "We really enjoyed the evening," stated Mayer as he said goodbye and, to the delight of all those present, promised that they would certainly find time for a third edition.
Last Friday, the Bayerische Landesschule für Körperbehinderte received a donation cheque for €25,000 from FC Bayern:
