FC Bayern legend Arjen Robben turns 40 on 23 January 2024, and we want to wish him a happy birthday!
Mr Wembley
The left-footed Dutchman first moved to Munich in summer 2009 and helped usher in a new era at the club. The winger spent a decade with Bayern before playing his final game – and scoring – in the 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on 18 May 2019 to sign off with another Bundesliga title. It was a trophy he lifted eight times – in no small part thanks to his inimitable cut in from the right flank onto his left foot – as well as five DFB Cups and the 2013 Champions League. Of course, it was Robben who secured that coveted European title for Bayern with his last-minute winner in the final against Borussia Dortmund, earning him the nickname Mr Wembley.
