Dayot Upamecano faces a spell on the sidelines with a torn thigh muscle. The 25-year-old centre-back had to go off at half-time in FC Bayern's 1-0 win over Union Berlin on Wednesday. "It's a torn fiber in the back of the thigh. It's going to be weeks, not days. That's really tough to take for 'Upa' and for us. He's been in top form in recent weeks," said head coach Thomas Tuchel in his post-match press conference.
Laimer and Kimmich suffer knocks
Konrad Laimer was also withdrawn in the closing stages, while Joshua Kimmich battled through a shoulder issue sustained late in the contest. It remains to be seen whether the duo will be fit for Bayern's next game away to FC Augsburg on Saturday.
