Guests from all over the world to come and honour Franz Beckenbauer

Guests from all over the world have announced that they will be attending the big memorial service for Franz Beckenbauer at the Allianz Arena on Friday (15:00 CET, free admission passes HERE) in honour of the Kaiser. In addition to the two FC Bayern men's and women's teams, Germany President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder, numerous companions from many decades of the Kaiser’s career in football will be present to bid farewell to the icon in this unique setting.

The big memorial service for Franz Beckenbauer will take place in the Allianz Arena on Friday.

Teammates, world champions, legends

In addition to FC Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeneß, the 1974 World Cup winners including Paul Breitner, Günter Netzer, Wolfgang Overath and Rainer Bonhof will be in the stadium, as well as FC Bayern legends such as Franz ‘Bulle’ Roth, Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mark van Bommel, Michael Ballack, Miroslav Klose, Bixente Lizarazu, Willy Sagnol, Jean-Marie Pfaff and Bernd Dürnberger. Beckenbauer's 1990 World Cup winners include Lothar Matthäus, Andreas Brehme, Klaus Augenthaler, Pierre Littbarski, Guido Buchwald, Olaf Thon, Rudi Völler and Karlheinz Riedle. Among the coaches will be Otto Rehhagel, Hansi Flick, Julian Nagelsmann, Felix Magath, Erich Ribbeck, Matthias Sammer, Niko Kovač, Horst Köppel and Holger Osieck, as well as Bundesliga record appearance holder Charly Körbel.

Delegations from abroad, including Barcelona and Real Madrid, have confirmed their attendance. President Joan Laporta and vice president Rafael Yuste will represent Barça, while honorary president Pirri and legendary striker Emilio Butragueño will represent the Madrid club. Jimmy Hartwig is coming for Hamburger SV, Hansi Müller from VfB Stuttgart, as well as DFB president Bernd Neuendorf, Oliver Bierhoff, Hans-Joachim Watzke and Oliver Mintzlaff.

People outside of football also want to pay their respects to the Kaiser at this event. Tennis icon Boris Becker, former skiers Christian Neureuther and Christa Kinshofer will be there, as well as other representatives from culture and politics such as Dr Edmund Stoiber, the Bavarian Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann and Charlotte Knobloch, president of the Jewish Community of Munich and Upper Bavaria.
