Reaction - Eric Dier: We gave little away

After an intense and hard-fought 90 minutes, FC Bayern were able to celebrate a 1-0 win over Union Berlin in their rescheduled Bundesliga Matchday 13 fixture on Wednesday. "We controlled the game," said head coach Thomas Tuchel. "It was a decent game, a solid performance," added Leon Goretzka. fcbayern.com rounds up the rest of the reaction...

Reaction to the win over Union

Thomas Tuchel: "We were switched on, and played with structure and discipline to our game. Union defended very deep. We didn't give away any counter-attacks. Union had a chance right at the end, but we were very stable otherwise. We controlled the game, but were missing the second goal. If we'd scored another, a couple more might have followed. All in all, though, it was a good display today. It was a very different performance to Sunday, when Bremen had chances on the counter right from the start."

Leon Goretzka: "It was an important and dominant win. It was important to show a reaction after the defeat [to Bremen]. The main thing was to win, but we know it wasn't perfect. It was a decent game, a solid performance. We hardly gave away any chances, but were a bit unlucky going forward. When you score a second goal, opposition heads tend to drop. That makes things easier. It got a bit heated towards the end."

Eric Dier: "Mentally, I was ready to play. We wanted to create more chances, but after the last game it was important just to win. We played well and gave very little away. It's going really well for me so far. I've received a really warm welcome from the club. My teammates and the coach are fantastic, and I'm proud to have made my debut today. I'm very happy."

Reaction from the Union Berlin camp

Nenad Bjelica (Union Berlin head coach): "We didn't give much away - just a few shots in the first half. I didn't see much in the second half either, other than Bayern's goal. We kept them in check and had our chances. Unfortunately, we didn't score a goal. Overall, it was a fair result."

Frederik Rönnow (Union Berlin goalkeeper): "We're not happy. We fought well. It's always tough against Bayern. We played with a bit more courage on the ball in the second half. With a bit more luck, we could have taken a point."

Kevin Vogt (Union Berlin defender): "We'd have liked to have taken something from the game today. At the end of the day, we didn't create enough chances in front of goal. We defended well, and gave little away. It was a really annoying goal to concede."
