FC Bayern is in mourning for Klara Geiger, who at 105 was one of the German record champions' oldest members. Active and cheerful to the last, she passed away surrounded by her loved ones. Frau Geiger's passion for FC Bayern always kept her young and full of energy, her football-loving family let us know - she single-handedly looked after her household and the Bundesliga matches of her favourite club were highlights that she would look forward to all week, always following the action on the pitch wearing her Bayern jersey and scarf.
"Our condolences go out to Klara Geiger's family and loved ones," said president Herbert Hainer, "Frau Geiger had followed FC Bayern since the 1960s. We are proud that we at FC Bayern have been able to make people happy for such a long time." For her 105th birthday in December, the club sent Klara a signed jersey with a message from her favourite player Thomas Müller, which was immediately given a place of honour.
Klara Geiger was one of ten current members of FC Bayern who are over 100 years old.
