At the same time as Bayern were held to a 2-2 draw away at Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Friday night, Lazio – who visit the Allianz Arena on Tuesday for the Champions League last-16 second leg – were taking on AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico. The Rome club were beaten 1-0 to remain in ninth place in Italy’s Serie A with 40 points from 27 games.
Three red cards, Immobile off the bench
Coach Maurizio Sarri rested Ciro Immobile, who scored the only goal in the first leg against Bayern. His team were then reduced to 10 men after 57 minutes when full-back Luca Pellegrini was shown a second yellow. Noah Okafor grabbed the winner for AC in the 88th minute, before things got really heated. Lazio’s Adam Marusic was sent off in the 94th minute before Matteo Guendouzi followed him moments later for separate incidents.
