How FC Bayern's loan players fared during last season - part 1

A total of 28 FC Bayern players were loaned out to various clubs across Europe last season. With the campaign now over, fcbayern.com takes a look at the performances of the German record champions' loanees.

Richard Kitzbichler, the link between the first team and the FC Bayern Campus when it comes to top talent development: "Many of our lads have developed very well over the past season. We've seen once again how valuable loan deals can be on the road to professional football. By gaining match practice at a high level, our players were able to take further important steps. We follow their development very closely and are in constant dialogue with them so we can offer them the best possible individual support in their training process."

Alexander Nübel (since July 2023: VfB Stuttgart)

Alexander Nübel made 30 appearances for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga last season.

Alexander Nübel can look back on an outstanding campaign with VfB Stuttgart. The 27-year-old goalkeeper was runner-up in the Bundesliga with the Swabians last season. Nübel made 30 appearances in the Bundesliga for VfB, keeping a clean sheet in 11 games (second in the Bundesliga behind Leverkusen's Lukáš Hrádecký). In the DFB Cup, the goalkeeper and his team advanced to the quarter-finals, but were beaten by the eventual winners from Leverkusen. Nübel is on loan at Stuttgart until 2026 and has a valid contract with FC Bayern until 2029. 

Josip Stanišić (since August 2023: Bayer 04 Leverkusen)

Full-back Josip Stanišić secured the league and cup double with Bayer 04 Leverkusen last season. The Croatia international reached the Europa League final with the Werkself, but they were beaten by Atalanta. Stanišić amassed ten points in the best scorer list (four goals, six assists) in 38 appearances across all competitions last season. 

Gabriel Vidović (since August 2023: Dinamo Zagreb)

Gabriel Vidović has been leading the line at Dinamo Zagreb since September last year. Born in Augsburg, he won the domestic league and cup double with the Croatian record champions last season. The 20-year-old attacker featured in 40 games for the capital city club across all competitions. The Croatia U21 international scored nine goals and provided three assists. 

Malik Tillman (since August 2023: PSV)

Malik Tillman went out on loan to Dutch giants PSV last season. Thanks to an extremely impressive campaign, the USMNT player won the Eredivisie title with his team. The attacking midfielder made 28 out of a possible 34 league appearances, amassing a total of 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) meaning Tillman, who joined FC Bayern in 2015, played a significant part in the 25th championship in the club's history. PSV have now signed the Nuremberg native on a permanent basis, meaning he'll continue to play in the PSV jersey in the future.

Frans Krätzig (Since February 2024: Austria Wien)

Full-back Frans Krätzig went out on loan to Austrian first division club Austria Wien in February. The Germany U20 international started all 14 of his league games for the capital city club, scoring one goal and setting up three others. Krätzig has just clinched a Europa Conference League qualifying round spot with his team by way of the Austrian Bundesliga play-offs.

Taichi Fukui (since January 2024: Portimonense SC)

Taichi Fukui has been playing for Portuguese first division club Portimonense SC since the winter break. The central midfielder has featured in 11 of a possible 15 matches so far, where the 19-year-old Japanese player, who joined the German record champions from Sagan Tosu at the start of 2023, has scored one goal and set up one more. Fukui is currently battling with his team in the relegation play-offs to stay in the Portuguese top flight. 

Arijon Ibrahimović (since September 2023: Frosinone Calcio)

Arijon Ibrahimović made 16 appearances in Serie A for Frosinone Calcio last season.

Arijon Ibrahimović played for Frosinone Calcio in Serie A last season. Under coach Eusebio di Francesco, the 18-year-old made 16 league appearances, scoring one goal and setting up one more. The attacking midfielder, who has been under contract with the German record champions since 2018, unfortunately just lost out in the relegation play-offs and will play in the senond tier next season. 

Angelo Brückner (since September 2023: TSV Hartberg)

Angelo Brückner, another player on loan from the German record champions, played in the Austrian Bundesliga in the 2023/24 season. Born in Munich, he made 13 appearances for TSV Hartberg in the Bundesliga and Austrian Cup last season. Brückner's side just lost out to Franz Krätzig's Austria Vienna in the battle for a place in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Torben Rhein (since July 2022: Austria Lustenau)

Torben Rhein also spent last season in the Austrian Bundesliga. The 21-year-old went out on loan to SC Austria Lustenau for the 2022/23 campaign, and the central midfielder made 24 appearances across all competitions for the Vorarlberg club In the 2023/24 term. Rhein joined the German record champions from Hertha BSC's youth setup in 2017.

Justin Janitzek (since July 2023: FC St. Gallen)

Centre-back Justin Janitzek spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Swiss first division club FC St. Gallen. Partly due to injury, the 1.92- metre tall centre-back made just two appearances for the Espen, who finished the campaign in fifth place. The former Germany U18 international has been under contract at FC Bayern since 2018. 

Robert Deziel (since September 2023: VSG Altglienicke)

American Robert Deziel played for VSG Altglienicke last season, making six appearances for the Regionalliga club. However, the defensive midfielder, who moved to FC Bayern Campus from Celta Vigo in 2020, has been sidelined since January due to injury. 

Yousef Qashi (since June 2024: VSG Altglienicke)

Yousef Qashi made 16 appearances in the Regionalliga Nordost in the 2023/24 season.

Yousef Qashi also played for VSG Altglienicke last season. The 18-year-old Jordanian made 16 appearances in the Regionalliga Nordost, scoring one goal. Qashi joined the German record champions from RB Leipzig in 2018. The versatile attacker has made 36 appearances for the FC Bayern U19s to date, scoring four goals. 

Jakob Mayer (since July 2024: FC Homburg)

Goalkeeper Jakob Mayer is another Bayern player who competed in the Regionalliga last season. The 22-year-old stopper made five appearances for FC 08 Homburg in the league and a further three  in the Saarland Cup. Born in Memmingen, he's been under contract at the German record champions since 2013, since when he's progressed through all of their youth teams. 

Liu Shaoziyang (since July 2023: SV Ried II)

Youth keeper Liu Shaoziyang spent last season between the sticks for Austrian Regionalliga side SV Guntamic Ried. The 20-year-old Chinese player made 13 appearances for the team from Tyrol. The 1.91-metre-tall keeper joined the FC Bayern youth setup from Wuhan Three Towns at the start of 2022 and has since been loaned out to Austria Klagenfurt and Grazer AK, among others. 

Erion Rexhepi (since August 2023: SpVgg Unterhaching)

Erion Rexhepi spent the 2023/24 season playing for the Unterhaching U19s. The 18-year-old full-back, who can play on either the right or left flank, joined the German record champions' youth setup from TSV Milbertshofen in 2021. Last season, the defender made 24 appearances in the U19 Bayernliga and got on the scoresheet three times.
