FC Bayern extend contract with Aleksandar Pavlović

FC Bayern have extended 20-year-old Aleksandar Pavlović’s contract until 30 June 2029. The Munich-born midfielder has played for the German record champions since the age of seven and cemented his place as a first-team regular last season.

Max Eberl, FC Bayern board member for sport: “Aleksandar Pavlović is the ideal player – both to us and in the eyes of FC Bayern fans: he was born in Munich, started out at FC Bayern at a young age and has worked his way to the top. He is a perfect example of how to push on to the highest level. Players like him are fundamental to FC Bayern's identity and a shining example of how we promote young talent at the FC Bayern Campus. We want Aleks to become a face for the future of our team.”

Christoph Freund, FC Bayern sporting director: “It's been wonderful following Aleksandar Pavlović's incredible development over the last few months. He immediately established himself as a core member of the first team from his very first season and even went on to play for his national team. He may be young, but he radiates calm and gives the team a sense of security. He carries FC Bayern in his heart and we're looking forward to the years ahead.”

Aleksandar Pavlović:  “Unfortunately, this tonsillitis has denied me my dream of playing in the European Championship on home turf, which is very disappointing – but I'm thrilled that my contract with FC Bayern has been extended until 2029. It shows the club has trust in me, which I'm eager to repay. FC Bayern is my home. I'm proud, happy and grateful, want to win trophies with the team and continue my personal development.”

The home-grown talent from Munich began his football career in the youth section at SC Fürstenfeldbruck before switching to FC Bayern in 2011. Pavlović moved through all the junior teams with the German record champions and signed professional terms after making a great impression with the reserve team in the fourth-tier regional league. From there, he went on to win the 2022/23 German championship and has made 22 appearances in competitive matches (2 goals). The former junior national team player made his full international debut for Germany on 3 June against Ukraine and was originally called up to the hosts’ squad for the 2024 European Championship on home soil.
