FC Bayern players Dayot Upamecano, Kingsley Coman and their French compatriots advanced to the Euro 2024 semi-finals thanks to a 5-3 penalty shootout win against Portugal in Hamburg on Friday. France take on Spain in Munich on Tuesday.

As in all of France's Euro matches so far, centre-back Upamecano played the full match against Portugal. Forward Coman did not come off the bench. Portugal had only few chances until Upamecano made a strong block against Rafael Leão after 101 minutes. The match went to penalties after goalless 120 minutes. France showed the better nerves and won 5-3.
