Bright sunshine and a team in a great mood: Wednesday morning's open training session at the Säbener Straße was a treat for the fans. About 2,000 of them flocked to the German record champions' session overseen by head coach Vincent Kompany.
Three days after the successful start to the Bundesliga campaign, a 3-2 victory over VfL Wolfsburg, the players were in for an intense session. After warming up to music, the Bavarians practised various match situations. The players shone with fine moves and sumptuous goals, making the fans cheer again and again. Kompany was very active and consistently issued instructions. Bayern trained for about two hours to the delight of the fans.
Centre-back Minjae Kim completed an individual programme on an adjacent pitch (workload management). Dayot Upamecano missed the team training for the same reason.
After the session, Harry Kane, Thomas Müller & Co. signed autographs and posed for selfies with the fans at the Säbener Straße facility. The first home match of the new season awaits the Reds on Sunday, when they take on SC Freiburg at the Allianz Arena on Matchday 2 at 17:30 CEST.
Harry Kane was honoured with the Golden Shoe as Europe's top-scoring player in the 2023/24 season on Tuesday:
