FC Bayern will present the line-up in sign language in videos on the display board at the Allianz Arena again this year. Thomas Müller makes the sign for the profession "Müller" (miller), Serge Gnabry makes his goal celebration, head coach Vincent Kompany smiles and moves his hand along his chin, new signing João Palhinha makes the sign for "straw", his name in English. The signs will be available in the player profiles on the website. The same goes for FC Bayern Women. Signs for the FC Bayern Basketball team are also on the way.
FC Bayern president Herbert Hainer commented: "Inclusion and autonomous participation are important social issues to which we as FC Bayern want to do justice. We're very glad our fan club "Red Deaf" has developed signs for our players for the second time. Together we stress that our club wants to be a home for everybody. Everyone can participate in shaping our future."
The inclusive project is another joint project between FC Bayern fan club "Red Deaf" and the "Red against Racism" initiative for diversity and against discrimination of any kind. The fan club members and chair Martina Bechtold spent several months when they developed the names of the players for the 2023/24 season. For this season they worked on the names of the new signings.
