Signature campaign at fan shops, Allianz Arena, BMW Park and Women's match at Campus

President Herbert Hainer and honorary president Uli Hoeneß have already sent a signal against far-right extremism, anti-Semitism, racism, hatred and harassment with their signatures in the ‘Nicht mit uns’ (‘Not with us’) campaign – FC Bayern will now offer further opportunities for as many fans as possible to sign up too. From Monday afternoon, lists will be available in all fan stores in Munich and the surrounding area, and there will also be stands at the home game at the Allianz Arena against Bayer Leverkusen on 28 September (kick-off 18:30 CEST), at the FCB Women game on Monday at the Clubheim *1900 on the FC Bayern Campus against Hoffenheim (18:00 CEST) and at the FC Bayern Basketball match on 29 September against Hamburg (15:00 CEST) at BMW Park. Legends such as Giovane Elber and Roy Makaay will also be involved.

"FC Bayern stands for a cosmopolitan, tolerant society – we have no room for discrimination of any kind," said Hainer. "It's important to practise our attitude. As FC Bayern, we want to be role models and show that diversity in sport and in life in general is an enrichment." It's therefore important to the club that as many members of the large FC Bayern family as possible take part. Players from the German record champions will also sign up. "The shift to the right in Germany and throughout Europe worries me greatly," said Hoeneß. "We are all called upon not to stand idly by and watch history repeat itself." The signature campaign runs until 1 October.

The German record champions routinely promote diversity, not least with their club-wide ‘Red against Racism’ initiative for diversity and against discrimination of all kinds. "When divisive forces are at work in our society, sport and all of us should stand up against it," stated Hainer. "Against hatred and harassment, in favour of a fortified democracy: we must work together to show that there are many good reasons to stand up for our democracy."

The initiative was launched by former Munich mayor Christian Ude after a bet with the artist Ron Williams that it must be possible to collate at least 100,000 signatures against far-right extremism, anti-Semitism and racism within a few weeks. On average, eight or nine people need to sign every minute. Two 500-metre-long rolls of paper will be available on rain-free days from 12 noon to 4 pm in the city centre at Viktualienmarkt next to the Heilig Geist church and in various shops that are involved in this campaign. Around one hundred signatures per metre can fit on the 1.2 metre-wide roll.

At the end, the signatures will be digitised and the originals of the rolls will be integrated into the collection of the Munich City Museum.  Anyone who would also like to display rolls in their shop, for example, which will then be added to the larger collection, can contact the ‘Nicht mit uns’ association at info@nichtmituns.org.
