State reception at Bayern’s Allianz Arena

On 10 October, the Bavarian Climate Alliance's state reception will take place at FC Bayern's Allianz Arena. To mark the occasion, the stadium will be lit up in Bavarian climate stripes with LED technology and 100 percent green electricity. The state reception (starting at 7pm) will kick off the Bavarian Climate Week from 11 to 20 October. FC Bayern and Allianz Arena München Stadion GmbH have been members of the Bavarian Climate Alliance since 2015 and are committed to the Bavarian state government's climate protection goals in order to strengthen the partnership between the state and civil society. In addition to Bavaria's Environment Minister Thorsten Glauber, FC Bayern will be represented by CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and Jürgen Muth, managing director of Allianz Arena GmbH.

Jan-Christian Dreesen, FC Bayern CEO: “We are delighted that our Allianz Arena is hosting the Bavarian Climate Alliance's state reception. Climate protection is not an option for FC Bayern, but an obligation, and concerns us all. It is up to us to make the right decisions for future generations and to set a good example. We are aware of this responsibility and are ensuring that our sites such as Säbener Straße, the FC Bayern Campus and, above all, our Allianz Arena are continuously operated in a more climate-friendly manner.”

Allianz Arena illumination in climate stripes

To mark Bavarian Climate Week, FC Bayern's sustainability department has developed its own FC Bayern climate strip quiz for fans, which can be found HERE (in German). The club is also organising a workshop with its fans on the topic. The climate stripes on the Allianz Arena are intended to illustrate the progression of global warming. As on a timeline, the vertical stripe on the far left shows the furthest year, while the stripes to the right show the most recent data. Blue stands for a lower average temperature, red for a higher average temperature compared to a defined reference value. Depending on the deviation from the reference value, the colour of the stripes varies from dark blue (very cool) to dark red (very hot). The climate stripes show that warm and hot years have also increased significantly in Bavaria in recent times.

In 2004, the Bavarian state government initiated the Bavarian Climate Alliance together with BUND-Naturschutz in Bayern e.V. (Friends of the Earth Germany). The Bavarian Climate Week is a joint campaign in which various social groups and the Bavarian state government are organised. The aim of the campaign week is to draw attention to climate change and show that climate change can only be tackled together. FC Bayern is building a HPC charging park for eTrucks at the Allianz Arena:
