The 2024 FC Bayern München eV Annual General Meeting at the Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle on Sunday 8 December from 10:30 CET will be dedicated to Franz Beckenbauer. Members can see a unique exhibition in honour of the Kaiser, where they can take pictures with exhibits such as the European Champion Clubs' Cup trophy Beckenbauer and the legendary Bayern team of the 70s won for the first time exactly 50 years ago.
FC Bayern President Herbert Hainer: "FC Bayern would never be the club it is today without Franz Beckenbauer – he will always remain in our hearts. We want to give our members an opportunity to record special memories of Franz. I'd like to thank Heidi Beckenbauer, who supplied us with personal exhibits for the Annual General Meeting."
Original jerseys and World Cup final boot
Besides the trophy Bayern won three times in a row back then, visitors can see exhibits like the jersey in which the Kaiser sealed promotion to the Bundesliga in 1964/65, a jersey from his time at Cosmos New York and the boot from the 1974 World Cup final, when Germany celebrated the title at Munich's Olympic Stadium. The exhibition with mementoes from Heidi Beckenbauer's personal stock and the FC Bayern Museum examines the different facets of the FC Bayern icon, for example with sports exhibits, the Federal Cross of Merit, a Bambi and records. The different FC Bayern sections will host information stands and visitors can take part in a quiz regarding discrimination and diversity by the FCB initiative Red against Racism from 9:00 to 10:30 CET.
The meeting has been scheduled in the morning in response to many requests from members and is set for a home match weekend. As last year, a members meet-up with FC Bayern officials will be staged the previous evening.
