FC Bayern will submit a building application to the City of Munich for the construction of a new first team performance centre at its training ground on Säbener Strasse. This decision was taken unanimously by the supervisory board at its meeting on Monday.
Following the positive outcome of the review of key points for the approvability of the construction of a new performance centre requested by the city in the spring, FC Bayern is now taking the next step. An analysis of the club's location and usage showed that all the potential necessary uses for an adequate and sustainable infrastructure could be accommodated in a new performance centre on the site. Säbener Strasse has been the home of FC Bayern for 75 years, and this project will create the conditions to continue to meet the highest national and international standards. FC Bayern will inform and involve the neighbourhood and political decision-makers transparently about all planning steps.
The German record champions have been training at Säbener Straße since 1949. An office building was erected in 1970 and since then the site has been continually upgraded to meet new requirements. In 1979, the late 80s and 2008, there were extensive building refurbishments. Since the youth and women's teams moved to the new FC Bayern Campus in summer 2017, Säbener Straße has been home to the first and second men's teams.
FC Bayern's AGM takes place on 8 December:
