For Paul Wanner and 1. FC Heidenheim, there was a Swabian derby against VfB Stuttgart last Sunday. Despite a spirited performance, head coach Frank Schmidt's side went down 3-1 at home to last season's runners-up, their fifth home defeat of the season. Wanner started against the five-time German champions and scored the short-lived equaliser at the end of the first half with his third league goal of the campaign. After winning the ball in the VfB half, the 18-year-old pulled the trigger from 23 metres and made it 1-1 with a powerful left-footed shot. The Bayern loanee had two attempts on goal in total in the match, ran nearly 12 kilometres and had 44 touches of the ball.

It was a special fixture for Armindo Sieb last weekend as the 21-year-old came up against FC Bayern with 1. FSV Mainz 05 at the MEWA Arena. Having been comprehensively beaten 4-0 in the second round of the DFB Cup at the end of October, head coach Bo Henriksen's side got their revenge and won 2-1 at home. Sieb replaced the injured Jonathan Burkardt after 15 minutes and played for 62 minutes.

The attacker played a starring role in the clash with FCB. In the 41st minute, his shot was deflected into the path of Jae-sung Lee, who opened the scoring from close range. Lee's second goal was then set up by the German U21 international with a good cross from the right. Sieb registered 28 touches of the ball against his parent club, succeeded with 100 percent of his dribbles and won 67 percent of his duels.

SSV Ulm, with FC Bayern loanee Maurice Krattenmacher, battled to a point at home to Hamburger SV on Saturday. After Aaron Keller had given Ulm the lead, the promotion hopefuls equalised in the second half through Davie Selke. Krattenmacher, who's been on loan at the newly promoted Bundesliga 2 side since the start of this season, had four attempts on goal in the meeting with the Red Shorts, reached his target with 14 of his 18 passes and successfully completed 75 percent of his dribbles. SSV currently occupy the relegation playoff place in 16th after 16 matchdays. Thomas Wörle's team end the year with a trip to Preußen Münster this Saturday.

Maximilian Hennig and SpVgg Unterhaching were involved in a six-goal thriller at the Bielefelder Alm on Saturday. Despite being a man down from the 71st minute, head coach Sven Bender's side picked up an important point in their battle for survival in the third division with a 3-3 draw. The 18-year-old started for Unterhaching at fourth-placed Arminia and played the full match as his team collected their second point on the road this term. The full-back made his 10th league appearance and has registered two assists to date. Unterhaching host second-placed Dynamo Dresden in the final fixture of the year this weekend.
