FC Bayern have picked up a talent from the USA for their reserve team. Bajung Darboe, 18, moves to Munich from MLS club Los Angeles FC on a long-term contract. The 18-year-old attacker has been playing for the 'Red&Gold' partner club's second team and is planned for Holger Seitz's Regionalliga side at the German record champions.
Jochen Sauer, director of youth development and the Campus: "We've been aware of Bajung for a while and have already had him with us in Munich for a trial. We're very pleased that he's now moving here permanently and wants to establish himself in European football through our reserves. We thank LAFC for their cooperation on this transfer and we're both excited about his future development."
Darboe was born in Gambia on 7 November 2006 and grew up in the USA. In 2022, he joined Los Angeles from Philadelphia Union and made 15 appearances for the California club's second string. He's played twice for the USA U17 side.
