Happy New Year of the Snake from FC Bayern

In Asia, the snake symbolises wisdom. Under its sign, thinkers and researchers are born; these people are considered to be understanding and vigilant. With this in mind, FC Bayern would like to wish everyone in Asia a Happy New Year of the Snake! The Chinese New Year starts on 29 January and is the most important family festival in Asia.

Among others, Thomas Müller was born in the Year of the Snake. The attributes associated with this match the German record champions' "Raumdeuter" (space interpreter), who likes to explore routes on the pitch that others don't even think about. According to tradition, the "annual monster" is marketed in Asia using, among other things, the colour red - the colour of FC Bayern. 

The club boasts over 32 million social media followers across the region and more than 40 official fan clubs. The club's Audi Summer Tours regularly take it to Asia in order to give fans in the region the chance to experience the club and establish new contacts in society, politics and business. FC Bayern has already been to China, Japan and Singapore several times in this context, and last summer travelled to South Korea's capital Seoul. The German record champions have their own offices in the major Chinese city of Shanghai and the Thai capital Bangkok.
