FC Bayern has signed 16-year-old Portuguese attacking midfielder Maycon Douglas Cardozo, player from our partner in Thailand, to its U17 squad during the winter transfer period. The signing reflects the club's ongoing efforts to develop young talent through its FC Bayern Pathway program.
Cardozo joined the FC Bayern Global Academy in 2024, where his performance led to his selection for the FC Bayern World Squad (Class of '24). He has signed a contract with FC Bayern until 2027 and will continue his development with the U17 team.
Cardozo was previously trained and developed at Sport Thai-Bavaria Football Academy (STB) in Thailand, an FC Bayern Youth Football Partner since 2015.
"We have been working successfully with Sport Thai Bavaria in Thailand for ten years now in the area of youth football," said Jochen Sauer, Head of the FC Bayern Campus. "We are all the more delighted that a player for our youth team has now emerged from this partnership. This once again emphasizes how well our FC Bayern Pathway works in international youth football."
