FC Bayern’s 125th-anniversary jersey: Creating Originals since 1900

From the Grünwalder Stadion stands to the Olympiastadion tent and the diamonds of the Allianz Arena, FC Bayern is the proud home of football legends. Germany’s record champions and partner adidas are celebrating this together with fans on the occasion of the club's 125th birthday with a unique anniversary jersey and a collection range. The design takes in the club’s three major home grounds. One club, one jersey, one home - the stuff legends are made of. The motto of the celebrations is ‘Creating Originals since 1900 - 125 years of FC Bayern’. And there will also be a special first. Following the decision of members at the club’s annual general meeting to no longer assign Franz Beckenbauer's iconic No.5 in the future, the legendary number on the back of the anniversary jersey will be specially dedicated to the memory of the Kaiser and will be available to purchase for the first time.

Since its foundation on 27 February 1900, FC Bayern has been creating legends and uniting people through its unmistakable identity. Rooted in the Bavarian concept of ‘Mia san mia’, the club inspires millions of people around the world. The anniversary jersey symbolises history and the present, and its wearers want to write further chapters in the future - players and fans alike. This homage to history is also expressed by the fact that current and former icons of the club posed in front of a replica of Café Gisela, where the club's founding document was signed. That includes the likes of Uli Hoeneß, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Franck Ribéry, Arjen Robben and Philipp Lahm as well as Jamal Musiala, Thomas Müller, Giulia Gwinn and Sarah Zadrazil, along with youth players from the FC Bayern Campus. 

The unique special jersey in traditional red with golden branding features the Trefoil logo of lifestyle brand adidas Originals, just like last year's alternate and Oktoberfest jerseys. It boasts a sophisticated design and combines details that are deeply rooted in the club's history and DNA with a modern yet classic look. In addition, an anniversary crest was designed that incorporates elements from the founding charter, the shape of the coat of arms and the Bavarian laurel wreath. Golden details round off the design and give it a modern touch. The shirt will be worn for the first time by the men’s first team in their home game at the Allianz Arena against Bochum on 8 March, while FC Bayern Women will wear it in their big match against Wolfsburg on 14 March.  

An additional feature is an optional special sleeve badge that combines all FC Bayern’s titles, with proceeds going to FC Bayern Hilfe eV. The launch also includes a competition from 20 to 23 February in which a new Audi A1 in a design exclusively based on the jersey awaits as a prize.
