FC Bayern lost 3-2 at home to VfL Bochum despite a 2-0 lead on Saturday. FCB were reduced to ten men when João Palhinha saw a red card before half-time. "We won't look for excuses, we lost and must take responsibility for it. It's important to focus on the reaction," said head coach Vincent Kompany. fcbayern.com has all the reaction to the game.
Reaction to Bayern v Bochum
Max Eberl (board member for sport): "We got off to a very good start and deservedly took a two-goal lead. Then we conceded a goal from a set piece and saw a red card. We tried it in the second half but didn't put in the legwork to compensate for it. Bochum then scored two gaols and we lost, that's very annoying."

Vincent Kompany: "Congratulations to Bochum. We won't look for excuses, we lost. We'll analyse it, we must take responsibility for it. It's important to focus on the reaction. Even with ten men, our ambition must be to win the game or at least not to lose it. We didn't achieve that. Bochum deserve the feeling of having won, I know what energy that takes. Now it's about the next game for us."

Thomas Müller: "It was a football game with all its facets. Of course we did our bit for the game to go our way at first. We turned in a really good performance at the beginning, but then we made mistakes. We missed a penalty, saw a red card and conceded goals. To play with ten men doesn't necessarily lead to goals. There was plenty to analyse for everyone, but we still move on. Maybe that's easier because nothing's changed in the table. We'll fully focus on Tuesday from tomorrow on."

Harry Kane: "We got off to a good start and did everything necessary to take the lead. Then they scored and the momentum shifted. After the red card it showed we have to stay focused for 90 minutes at this level, otherwise we might get punished – and that's what happened today."
Reaction from the VfL Bochum camp
Dieter Hecking (head coach): "It should have been 3-0 or 4-0 at the beginning, it would have been over then. We were kept alive, and this team gets up again and again. We showed that against Leipzig and again today. At half-time I said, 'listen, lads, you don't often get the chance to play against ten men in Munich. We mustn't be too humble, we must be more active, do more up front and attack earlier.' It's a coach's dream that it works out."
Timo Horn (goalkeeper): "It's indescribable. We knew we'd have a chance. We made it our task. Of course we got off to a bad start. We had a bit of luck in some situations, but you need that to prevail in Munich. The coach took his hat off for this performance, in the second half in particular. After the red card we took the chance, got a grip and pressed more with every minute. The 3-2 victory wasn't undeserved in my view."
Maximilian Wittek (defender): "Of corse we were lucky in the first half, with the missed penalty and the red card. But especially in our current situation, these are the moments you just need in Munich. I can only pay the team a huge compliment, how we went for the one-on-ones, how we went on the attack despite everything: that was good. I hope we'll continue like this in the upcoming weeks. I'm just proud of the lads."
