Bayern’s 34th title in 34 games

Bayern are champions of Germany for the 34th time. From Wolfsburg in August to Sinsheim in May, go back through the team’s triumphant 2024/25 Bundesliga season over all 34 matchdays.

Matchday 1

Wolfsburg 2-3 Bayern

Bayern kicked off their campaign with a 3-2 victory in Wolfsburg on 25 August. Jamal Musiala opened the scoring with a fine effort before Lovro Majer's brace turned the game on its head. A Jakub Kaminski own goal brought Vincent Kompany’s men back level on his Bundesliga debut. Harry Kane then set up Serge Gnabry to claim all three points and a winning start.

Matchday 2

Bayern 2-0 Freiburg

Bayern won their first home game 2-0 against Freiburg on a September afternoon that went down in history. Harry Kane got things going with a penalty before Thomas Müller marked his 710th Bayern appearance – becoming the club’s outright record holder – with a sublime finish at the Allianz Arena.

Matchday 3

Holstein Kiel 1-6 Bayern

Musiala needed just 15 seconds to breach the Holstein Kiel defence on Matchday 3. Harry Kane’s hat-trick and Michael Olise’s first Bundesliga goal, combined with a Kiel own goal, rounded off the team’s biggest away win of the season, despite Armin Gigovic’s consolation for the hosts. The result also took the Bavarians top of the Bundesliga table, not to be moved for the rest of the season.

Matchday 4

Werder Bremen vs. 0-5 Bayern

The Bayern attack was at full throttle in Bremen as Olise got the first and fourth of a five-star display, with Musiala, Kane and Gnabry also on target in a game that showcased the team’s dominant play under Kompany.

Bayern 1-1 Bayer Leverkusen

A long-range Robert Andrich effort saw Bayern go behind at home to champions Leverkusen, but a great strike from Aleks Pavlovic brought the Munich men back level before half time. Despite a dominant display, Bayern were unable to get more than a point and also lost Harry Kane to injury.

Matchday 6

Eintracht Frankfurt 3-3 Bayern

Minjae Kim gave Bayern the lead in what would turn into a six-goal thriller in Frankfurt. The hosts then hit back twice on the break through Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitike, before Dayot Upamecano and Olise turned things around again. Marmoush ensured the spoils were shared with an added-time equaliser.

Matchday 7

Bayern 4-0 VfB Stuttgart

After a goalless first half, Kane opened the floodgates against last season’s runners-up with a 23-minute hat-trick after the break. Kingsley Coman rounded off the 4-0 triumph that ended a run of three competitive fixtures without victory.

Bochum 0-5 Bayern

Bayern’s attacking might was on display once again in Bochum. Olise’s free-kick started things off before more goals from Musiala, Kane, Leroy Sane and Coman in a handsome 5-0 win.

Bayern 3-0 Union Berlin

Three more goals brought three more points at home to Union Berlin, with Kane bagging a brace – including a penalty – and Coman on target once more to keep Bayern top and maintain their record of having never lost to Union in 11 Bundesliga meetings.

St. Pauli 0-1 Bayern

It took some Musiala magic in Hamburg on 9 November to get the better of promoted St. Pauli, with his thumping 25-yard effort the only goal at the Millerntor.

Matchday 11

Bayern 3-0 Augsburg

Kane hit all three goals in a 3-0 derby win over Augsburg at the Allianz Arena in November, including a sublime effort that saw him pluck the ball out of the air with his boot that was named Goal of the Year for 2024 in Germany. It was also a sixth straight win with a clean sheet in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Bayern

Der Klassiker at the end of November produced a 1-1 draw in Dortmund. Jamie Gittens had put the hosts ahead before Musiala’s late equaliser in the 85th minute to earn a valuable point with his head.

Matchday 13

Bayern 4-2 Heidenheim

A typically high-scoring affair with Heidenheim saw Bayern come out 4-2 winners at the Allianz Arena. Upamecano headed in the opener before Musiala responded to Mathias Honsak’s 51st-minute equaliser. Leon Goretzka made it 3-1 to spark a wild conclusion that saw ex-FCB midfielder Niklas Dorsch get one back before Musiala completed his brace in added time. After the game, the Südkurve recorded the new stadium anthem with Jonas Kaufmann.

Matchday 14

Mainz 2-1 Bayern

Bayern’s first Bundesliga defeat of the season came in Mainz, as Jae-Sung Lee struck twice either side of half-time. Sane got one back in the 87th minute, but it was too late. Nevertheless, the Munich men remained top on 33 points, four ahead of Leverkusen.

Matchday 15

Bayern 5-1 RB Leipzig

Bayern ended 2024 on a real high with a handsome 5-1 win at home to Leipzig. Things got off to a blistering start as Musiala and Benjamin Sesko traded goals in the first two minutes, but Bayern then took control with more strikes from Konrad Laimer, Joshua Kimmich, Sane and Alphonso Davies to reach the winter break on 36 points from 15 games.

Borussia Mönchengladbach 0-1 Bayern

Bayern resumed their campaign on 11 January away at Borussia Mönchengladbach, with Kane’s 68th-minute penalty the difference.

Bayern 5-0 Hoffenheim

The first home fixture of 2025 saw a comfortable 5-0 win over Hoffenheim, with Sane’s brace accompanied by more goals from Guerreiro, Gnabry and a Kane penalty. As the season reached its halfway mark, FCB were four points ahead at the summit.

Bayern 3-2 Wolfsburg

A Goretzka brace and further strike from Olise ensured Bayern beat Wolfsburg 3-2 for the second time, despite two goals from Mohamed Amoura at the Allianz Arena.

Freiburg 1-2 Bayern

Goals from Kane and Kim either side of half-time had Bayern on course for three points in Freiburg. Matthias Ginter’s response after the hour mark was ultimately only a consolation for the hosts as FCB marched on.

Matchday 20

Bayern 4-3 Holstein Kiel

Seven goals were shared on Kiel’s first visit to the Allianz Arena. Musiala, Gnabry and a Kane brace had Bayern 4-0 up inside an hour, but a triple response from the visitors, including two goals in added time, set up a tense finish to a memorable game that marked Holocaust Remembrance Day, with fans producing a moving tifo.

Bayern 3-0 Werder Bremen

Things were much more serene and commanding the following week as a Kane brace and further effort from Sane earned a 3-0 win at home to Bremen and a seventh straight victory in the Bundesliga.

Bayer Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern

February’s visit to Leverkusen was a very different sort of game as Bayern were forced to defend hard against the champions, who were desperate to cut the gap at the top. FCB were lucky at times that the hosts squandered some chances, but the goalless draw kept Bayern’s advantage at eight points.

Matchday 23

Bayern 4-0 Eintracht Frankfurt

Bayern turned on the style again on Matchday 23 with a 4-0 win at home to third-placed Frankfurt. Olise opened the scoring in the first half before Hiroki Ito, Musiala and Gnabry added gloss in the second half and earned a 10th straight victory at the Allianz Arena in the league.

Matchday 24

VfB Stuttgart 1-3 Bayern

Bayern went behind on Friday night in Stuttgart through ex-FCB youngster Angelo Stiller, but the league leaders soon turned things around. Olise’s equaliser on the stroke of half-time got things going before Goretzka and Coman wrapped up a 3-1 win after the break.

Matchday 25

Bayern 2-3 Bochum

Bayern’s 125th anniversary fixture, including an impressive celebratory tifo, ended in a shock 3-2 defeat at home to Bochum. A Guerreiro brace inside the first 30 minutes – either side of a missed Gnabry penalty – looked to have FCB in the driving seat, but Jakov Medic got one back for the visitors before Joao Palhinha’s red card at the end of the first half saw momentum shift. Bochum then made the most of their numerical advantage through Ibrahima Sissoko and Matus Bero. Even with defeat, Bayern stayed eight points clear as Leverkusen were also beaten 2-0 by Bremen.

Matchday 26

Union Berlin 1-1 Bayern

Bayern dominated on their trip to Berlin, seeing 81 percent possession, but were unable to muster up more than a 1-1 draw. It took until the 75th minute for Sane to break the deadlock, only for ex-FCB youngster Benedict Hollerbach to level for Union in the 83rd minute.

Matchday 27

Bayern 3-2 St. Pauli

The gap at the top remained at six points after a 3-2 win at home to St. Pauli at the end of March. Kane opened the scoring before Elias Saad equalised. Sane’s second-half brace created breathing space, as Lars Ritzka got a consolation for the visitors in added time.

Matchday 28

Augsburg 1-3 Bayern

Bayern came from behind to win 3-1 at an Augsburg side unbeaten in 11 games. Dimitrios Giannoulis had given the hosts the lead in this Bavarian derby before Musiala levelled just prior to half-time. A second yellow card for Cedric Zesiger was followed moments later by Kane putting FCB ahead. A late Chrislain Matsima own goal rounded things off, but the result was overshadowed somewhat by Musiala’s hamstring injury, that ruled him out of the Champions League quarter-final against Inter Milan and indeed the rest of the Bundesliga campaign.

Matchday 29

Bayern 2-2 Borussia Dortmund

The second Klassiker of the season again ended in a draw. After a goalless first half, Maximilian Beier put BVB ahead three minutes into the second period. However, quickfire strikes from substitutes Guerreiro and Gnabry turned the game in Bayern’s favour. Waldemar Anton’s 75th-minute equaliser meant it finished 2-2 and all square at the Allianz Arena in between the two legs of the Champions League quarter-finals.

Heidenheim 0-4 Bayern

Bayern responded to Champions League elimination in style with a comprehensive display away at Heidenheim. Kane, Laimer and Coman all struck in the first half, with Kimmich rounding off the statement 4-0 win that took the team eight points clear at the summit.

Matchday 31

Bayern 3-0 Mainz

Bayern then saw off a Mainz side pushing for Europe as Sane, Olise and Eric Dier’s first league goal for the club earned a 3-0 win at the Allianz Arena. It was also the day Müller made his 500th Bundesliga appearance for Bayern, who remained eight points ahead of Leverkusen with three games to go.

Matchday 32

RB Leipzig 3-3 Bayern

The penultimate away outing of the season in Leipzig proved to be a real classic. Bayern came from 2-0 down to lead thanks to three goals in the final 30 minutes from Dier, Olise and Sane. A win would’ve handed FCB the title, but Yussuf Poulsen’s added-time equaliser put the party on hold that Saturday. It was some 24 hours later when Leverkusen were held 2-2 in Freiburg that the celebrations could start in Munich.

Matchday 33

Bayern 2-0 Borussia Mönchengladbach

On the day Bayern were presented with the Meisterschale as 34-time champions of Germany, they ran out comfortable 2-0 winners at home to Gladbach thanks to goals from Kane and Olise. Kompany’s team got their hands on the trophy afterwards, as the Allianz Arena also said goodbye to Müller following his 750th competitive appearance for Bayern.

Hoffenheim 0-4 Bayern

The champions brought down the curtain on 2024/25 in style with a 4-0 win away at Hoffenheim. Olise, Kimmich, Gnabry and Kane got the goals. It was the latter’s 26th of the campaign as he retained his top scorer crown in the Bundesliga.
