Crucial victories for Stanišić & Peretz in World Cup qualifiers

Two FC Bayern pros were in action for their national teams in Friday evening's World Cup qualifiers. Josip Stanišić’ Croatia and Daniel Peretz’ Israel took crucial points in the fight for spots in the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Defender Stanišić started in Croatia’s 7-0 victory away to Gibraltar and was subbed off in the 64^th minute. Zlatko Dalić’ men contested their first qualification match after their Nations League quarter-final exit against France.

Keeper Peretz featured between the sticks in Israel’s 3-1 victory over Estonia. Israel were trailing at first but turned the tide to advance to second place in their group. They have good chances of booking a berth in the tournament next summer.
