FC Bayern World Squad Prequel: A look behind the scenes

With the official prequel to the FC Bayern World Squad, the German record champions are providing a comprehensive insight into the development of this unique youth project. What once began as a pilot initiative has long since developed into a springboard for top international youth players and a cornerstone of the club's global youth development strategy. This episode provides a glimpse into the work of the coaching staff led by Roy Makaay and assistant Diego Contento, highlights success stories to date and provides an outlook for the 2025 season.

Big dreams, real stories

The focus is on two young players whose careers exemplify the opportunities provided by the World Squad:

Maycon Douglas Cardozo

Following his participation in the World Squad, Maycon was signed by the club and can now start his career with Bayern’s U17s team.

David Emmanuel

David also made the most of the World Squad as a springboard. He signed with Bayern and is currently gaining important match practice on loan in Germany at Hessen Kassel.

Audi as a partner, China as a key market

The prequel also sheds light on Audi’s role as the main global partner of the World Squad. The long-standing collaboration stands for innovation, an international outlook and youth development.

The World Squad team will be travelling to China in the summer of 2025. The episode introduces a Chinese player, Jiaming Zhang, who has secured a place among the 23 players in the FC Bayern World Squad. He gives us a brief preview of this year's 2025 World Squad.
