FC Bayern's Global Academy can look back on an impressive second half of the season. Since the start in February, the young players from all over the world have once again shown what characterises them on and off the pitch: Passion, cohesion and continuous development.

Almost unbeaten
The team turned in numerous convincing displays in the second part of the campaign, going unbeaten across 12 games that included wins over Ulm’s U17s (3-2), Vaduz’s U19s (3-1), Illertissen (3-2), Unterhaching (5-1) and a huge 7-0 victory over the Malaga City academy. They also showed fight and attacking impetus in goal-filled draws with Ismaning (5-5) and Wacker Burghausen (4-4).
That excellent run only ended in the final game of the season with a battling 3-2 loss to Ingolstadt’s U17s, who compete in the top-level Bundesliga.
Sanjay Gerry (12), Jason Burney (nine) and Barthazar Ndayishimiye (seven) were among the top scorers in 2025. The whole squad’s record underlines the team’s progress under head coach Klaus Augenthaler and goalkeeping coach Bernd Dreher.

International encounters and social engagement
A particular highlight was the tournament that took place in Munich in mid-May, including teams from Hertha Berlin, Cadiz and Unterhaching also took part. Despite a 5-1 defeat against Unterhaching and a 1-1 draw against Hertha, the team secured first place with a 1-0 win against Cadiz - a well-deserved end to a strong season. The award ceremony and a joint final dinner at the Nockherberg rounded off the tournament in a joyful atmosphere.
The players also gained valuable experience off the pitch. A day spent together at the Münchner Tafel food bank provided important insight into social commitment. The young players actively supported the distribution of food and met with local children and families. Other highlights included trips to the Bavarian mountains and relaxed barbecue afternoons by the Isar. Moments that not only strengthened team spirit but also created space for relaxation and community.

Unforgettable insight into professional football
A special experience for the players was the unique opportunity to watch the Bayern men’s first team in training. This was followed by an exclusive meet and greet where the aspiring youngsters were able to meet their idols in person, collect autographs, take photos and ask their most important questions. This direct proximity to the stars was an emotional high point for many and an additional motivational boost for their own sporting careers.
Diversity at the heart
Cultural exchange also played a central role this season. During visits to restaurants together, the players regularly presented the cuisine of their home countries - from Egyptian to Asian specialities. These culinary evenings strengthened mutual understanding and emphasised the diversity within the team.

Strong foundation for the future
The end of the season marks the end of a phase of intensive sporting experience, individual development and international encounters for the Global Academy. The players were able to demonstrate their potential both on the pitch and in social interaction.
