Class of ’25 visit Audi plant

Like last year, Audi has supported young talents in getting closer to their dream of playing professional football as partner of the FC Bayern World Squad.

Last Saturday, the team managed by head coach Roy Makaay and assistant Diego Contento concluded their journey with the highlight match against the FC Bayern U19s. The group have experienced an exciting four weeks of the project with various activities on and off the pitch. This year’s programme again included a tour of the Audi production site in Ingolstadt.

After the welcome and lunch together, the tour through the plant began as the World Squad got an up-close look at all the processes and stages of production. By way of thanks, Christian Schüller, director of sports marketing at Audi, was presented with a jersey. He spoke in an interview about the significance of the project: “It’s nice to see how the World Squad brings together young players from all over the world, who stand together on the pitch as a team at the end. This diversity and ambition creates a connection between the project and the values of Audi.”

“This was my second time here and I really enjoyed it again,” said Makaay. “The boys also found it really interesting to get a look behind the scenes and see what teamwork at Audi means. These insights are very valuable for our team.”

World Squad striker Matěj Kvaček was also thrilled by the whole tour and highlighted one aspect in particular: “The best bit was seeing how the robots work on the exterior of the car. That was very impressive.”
