Season review with Gyeong-Bin Mo and Marco Morigi

Last weekend, the fifth edition of the FC Bayern World Squad concluded with the match against the FC Bayern U19s. We look back on the season with Gyeong-Bin Mo and Marco Morigi.

What were your impressions of the time in Germany after returning from the trip to China?

Gyeong-Bin Mo: “It was pleasant that the temperatures were lower. It was easy for me to get used to the conditions in Munich because I’ve already been here a few times.”

Marco Morigi: “Things went even better for us as a team after returning to Munich. We developed better mutual understanding for one another on the pitch after the learning process in China. I think it was first and foremost the trust for each other that made it possible for us to put things into practice in the best possible way.”

You were in for exciting activities in Munich, both on and off the pitch. Would you like to share a special moment with us?

Gyeong-Bin Mo: “It was the second time I visited the Audi plant after last year, and it was very interesting to see it once again. During the Allianz Arena tour, the thought of playing here really motivated me.”

Marco Morigi: “The visit to the Allianz Arena was a dream come true. In addition to the visit to the Audi plant and the beautiful sunset at Marienplatz, the final match against the U19s was most special for me. I scored two goals I’ll always remember.”

How did it feel to train at Säbener Straße?

Gyeong-Bin Mo: “Training at Säbener Straße made me incredibly happy. I felt like a professional player because the facilities and the training ground are in such good condition.”

In what way were you able to improve the most on the pitch?

Gyeong-Bin Mo: “We shared, understood and communicated our thoughts, which led to a great development.”

Marco Morigi: “I’ve learned the technical and physical standards that are required in European football – first and foremost the importance of passing and the first touch. I feel I improved every day, and I think I could have further refined it with more time, training and games.”

You’ve formed a team of international players from many different countries. Marco, what have you learned about other cultures and customs?

Marco Morigi: “I had the opportunity to learn a few unique words and expressions from my teammates, we laughed about them together, we talked about and reflected on them. I also learned about traditional dishes and what the players like to do in general. The cultural exchange was really enriching and meaningful.”

What was your highlight of the last four weeks?

Gyeong-Bin Mo: “Every moment was an important experience and felt like a highlight!”

Marco Morigi: “As a good friend and World Squad teammate, Gio de Abreu, said: I take ‘the privilege of wearing this jersey’ with me. It was an honour to get coached by such a great team, they aren’t only pros but also incredible persons. Scoring four goals in five games in this jersey was the highlight of the four weeks. It means a lot to me – not only as a milestone in my career but also as a source of pride for me personally and for my country. I hope football will bring us all together again one day. Thank you for everything, World Squad 2025!”
