FC Bayern would like to bid a fond farewell to its honorary member Artur Fichtel, who will be laid to rest tomorrow in his hometown of Munich after passing away this week at the age of 95. The former landlord of the Hackerzelt at the Oktoberfest had been in the club since 3 April 1954 and was listed as the German record champions' member number 15.
FC Bayern president Herbert Hainer: "Artur Fichtel was a member of FC Bayern for over 70 years: every club would like to have loyal supporters like him, because FC Bayern is much more than its professional teams - people like Artur Fichtel carry our club. Our thoughts are with his family, relatives and friends."
