Live blog: Claudio Pizarro's big trip to Asia

"The trip through Asia was very special for me. Once again, I was totally impressed by how much enthusiasm there is for FC Bayern everywhere and how warmly I was received. The encounters with our fans - whether in Thailand, South Korea or China - showed me once again how much FC Bayern connects people all over the world. I'm taking home many wonderful memories and would like to thank all the fans for their support and passion. You are an important part of the FC Bayern family!" said Claudio Pizarro about his experiences in Asia.

After three exciting stops in Asia, Claudio Pizarro and the team are travelling home to Munich - taking lots of special memories with them.

Throughout the tournament, more than 200 spectators created a fantastic atmosphere at the FC Bayern Doppelherz Cup. In the end, the team from the Mia San Shanghai fan club secured victory and were presented with their medals by Pizarro himself at the award ceremony. It was an all-round successful fan event enjoyed by all FC Bayern fans!

At the end of the day, the visiting FC Bayern supporters gathered for a fan evening. Pizarro mingled with the red and white fan community, accepted a challenge to a round of mahjong and answered tricky questions in the panda quiz.

There was also plenty going on off the pitch today. At the legends meet & greet, organised in collaboration with FC Bayern partner Viessmann, fans and business partners had the chance to meet Pizarro in person, take photos and collect autographs.

The FC Bayern Doppelherz Cup kicked off today in Chengdu – a national fan tournament that brings together FC Bayern fans from all over China. Club legend Pizarro was there for the opening and will be on the pitch himself tomorrow for a special match!

At the end of the day, Pizarro got to take in some football, watching the CSL match between Chengdu Rongcheng and Henan Songshan Longmen on Friday evening. Before kick-off, the FC Bayern legend met the home team's captain, Tim Chow, for a brief meet and greet.

After visiting the pandas, the FC Bayern legend continued on to a traditional teahouse, where interviews with local media took place in a cosy atmosphere over a cup of tea.

Pizarro visited Panda Base today, a non-profit breeding and research facility for giant pandas. During an exciting tour, he learned lots of interesting facts and, of course, had some cute encounters with the fluffy residents.

Pizarro and the team are now off to their final destination in China!

Pizarro swapped out his football kit for a taekwondo outfit on Wednesday, training with local kids in a taekwondo school and trying out some classic kicks and techniques – a completely new experience for our Bayern legend!

After three eventful days, it's time to say: Goodbye, Thailand and Servus, Korea!

At a “Train Like FC Bayern” fitness session on Sunday, a professional fitness coach showed how FC Bayern players train away from the pitch in the gym - with Claudio Pizarro in the thick of it, of course.

On Saturday evening a watch party for the Bundesliga match at Borussia Mönchengladbach was held in cooperation with new merchandising partner CRC Sports at a cinema in Bangkok. More than 200 fans came to watch the match together.

30 young talents from FC Bayern’s youth football partner Sport Thai-Bavaria Akademie completed a training session with Claudio Pizarro on Saturday morning. There was enough time for pictures and autographs after the session.

There was a Munich feel in Thailand’s capital as Bavarian food and a Paulaner bar brought the Oktoberfest mood in Bangkok. Another highlight was the DIY jersey station, where fans could create their own Bayern/Carnival shirts.

FC Bayern and the lifestyle label Carnival have jointly created a special Thai design for the 2025 Oktoberfest jersey as well as an Adidas Samba OG. The product launch will be celebrated tonight with a special Oktoberfest event in Bangkok - with Claudio Pizarro attending as guest of honour!

Before Claudio Pizarro set off on his Asian adventure, we met him and put three questions to him. Here he reveals what the trip means to him and what he's particularly looking forward to.

What does it mean to you to embark on this journey through Asia as an ambassador for FC Bayern?
"It's a great honour for me to represent FC Bayern. There's huge enthusiasm for our club in Asia. I'm really looking forward to experiencing this passion on the ground and sharing it with the fans."

What are you most looking forward to on the trip?
"What I'm looking forward to most are the encounters with the fans. It's always impressive: you can feel this great passion for FC Bayern all over the world. Our fans live the club with all their heart, no matter where they are."

What would you like to share with the Asian fans when you meet them in person?
"Above all, I would like to say thank you for your loyalty, your enthusiasm and the support you've shown us from so far away."
