FC Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain have faced off on the biggest stages worldwide in recent years: from the 2020 Champions League final in Lisbon to the Club World Cup in the USA this summer, there have been matches packed with emotions, including great victories for FC Bayern but also defeats and setbacks. A European rivalry that thrills fans around the world has come about.
FC Bayern showcased football at the highest level again on Tuesday when they beat PSG 2-1 in the Champions League duel at Parc des Princes. The two clubs also stood out with their commitment in a completely different area. FC Bayern and PSG are working together to support social initiatives. The goal is to help people in difficult situations.
FCB supports the “École Rouge & Bleu” educational project
FC Bayern supported PSG’s education and sports programme “École Rouge & Bleu” the day before the match. It is aimed at children aged seven to eleven from disadvantaged districts in Paris. The project aims to strengthen their academic and social skills through sporting, cultural and digital activities.

The sessions take place four days per week in the afternoon, led by educators of “PSG for Communities”, a department dedicated to social responsibility. The focus is on homework and values like tolerance, responsibility and respect in a playful way. Two schools have been established since 2018, in Mantes-la-Jolie und Poissy, with a third set to open up at Paris’ Necker hospital.
Joint training session with FCB coaches and Roy Makaay
FC Bayern coaches held a joint session with educators from the PSG Foundation in Poissy ahead of the Champions League match. It began with educational and learning activities before the children played a football game wearing FC Bayern and PSG jerseys. Bayern Legend Roy Makaay was on site to present jerseys as well as gifts and thrilled the young participants.
FC Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain were rivals out on the pitch again, but this time they also teamed up to bring attention and joy to children. Football connects people, builds bridges and can have a social impact, especially where support is needed the most. That too is at Champions League level.
