A unique fan experience for a good cause: FC Bayern fan club Red Eagles Austria, which organised last year's Dream Match, presented FC Bayern Hilfe eV with a cheque for €10,500 ahead of the match against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Allianz Arena. Half of the proceeds from the Dream Match are always donated to FC Bayern Hilfe eV, with the other half going to other charitable causes selected by the host fan club. The Red Eagles, who topped up the amount, will use it to support people in need in their home region.
“We’d like to thank Red Eagles Austria for the donation,” said former FCB president and FC Bayern Hilfe eV chairman Karl Hopfner, who accepted the cheque from fan club chairman Robert Schweighofer and member Sophia Larcher: “With the money, we’ll once again be able to support many people who innocently find themselves in need – the FC Bayern Dream Match isn’t only a treat for the visitors on this special day, it has a much wider impact. Many thanks to everyone who donates to FC Bayern Hilfe eV.” Hopfner leads the FC Bayern Hilfe eV along with honorary president Uli Hoeneß and long-time CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. Every cent goes directly to people in need because no administrative apparatus is required.

In the Dream Match, official fan clubs can apply to play against FC Bayern’s professional team. The 13th edition was staged in Imst, Tyrol last summer – the German record champions came one day after the 6-0 victory in the Bundesliga opener against Leipzig and won 3-1 at the Gurgltalstadion. It was the first time a fan club from Austria had hosted the event. FCB sporting director Christoph Freund said: “It was a real festival of football for the fans. It was special and that’s what Bayern is about.” Markus Meindl, director of fan relations: “We as a club want to be approachable and tangible to our fans – and the Dream Match is a crucial part of our club philosophy.” For the fan club, it was “a big honour to have FC Bayern here in Austria for the first time as part of a Dream Match – and in the special anniversary year of ‘125 years of FC Bayern.’ I’d like to thank everyone who made this special event possible, especially all supporters who helped us host this Dream Match here in Imst,” said Red Eagles Austria chairman Robert Schweighofer.
There will be no Dream Match in 2026 because of the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
