FC Bayern wishes a happy new year of the horse

FC Bayern wishes all fans across Asia a happy, healthy and successful New Year of the Horse! The German record champions would like to once again express their gratitude for the extraordinary support in the region, during visits as part of the Audi Summer Tours, at watch parties and in the club's digital communities.

To mark the Year of the Horse, FC Bayern organised its first ever fan match at its Säbener Straße training ground, where the Chinese Bayern Red fan club from Munich took on the Rot-Weisse-Traun Traunstein e.V. fan club. Mascot Berni handed out hongbaos – traditional Chinese red gift envelopes in the colours of FC Bayern. Chinese Bayern Red won 2-0 against Rot-Weisse-Traun Traunstein.

We wish everyone a peaceful, fulfilling and successful new year,” says Markus Meindl, director of fan relations. “The organisation of the first fan match of this kind was a great success – proof of how big the FC Bayern family is and that everyone can find a home at our club. FC Bayern brings fans from all over the world together, united in their passion for our club.”

“New Year's is a family celebration, and FC Bayern stands for success, a winning mentality and team spirit in Asia. That's why it's all the more fitting that we're celebrating at FC Bayern's home and playing football together,” said Qi Wei, chairman of the Chinese Bayern Red fan club. The opportunity to play football at Säbener Straße “is something very special for us, something we will all remember for the rest of our lives.”
