Boys’ and girls’ youth teams to compete in the Generation adidas Cup in the USA

It will soon be time to "Go west" for two FC Bayern Campus youth teams. Both the boys’ and girls’ U15 sides will be taking part in this year's Generation adidas Cup in Bradenton (Florida). Last year, two FC Bayern teams participated in the tournament in the USA, which is organised by Bayern partner adidas and the MLS.

A total of 40 boys’ teams will compete for the title from 27 March to 4 April at the IMG Academy. Alongside 31 US teams, the European U15 talents from Barcelona, Valencia, Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven and Toulouse will also be involved. In the girls’ competition, eight teams will compete in the U16s tournament from 31 March, including youngsters from Real Madrid.

“An exciting sporting challenge”

“Taking part in this international tournament just over two months before the opening match of the World Cup will be an exciting sporting challenge and a formative personal experience for everyone there. Just like last year’s squad, they will gain valuable experience they will never forget. We’re really looking forward to the matches and to our time in Florida,” said development coordinator Maximilian Straub.

Nathalie Bischof, youth development coordinator in women’s football, stressed: “We’re looking forward to the opportunity to compete against the highly skilled, technically and athletically strong US academy teams as well as top European sides. As our U15s will be playing against predominantly U16 teams, we will be pushed to our absolute limits.”
