Maycon Cardozo has signed a long-term contract extension with FC Bayern. The 17-year-old Brazilian, who has been part of the reserve team squad since the winter break following a number of departures and started in both matches so far, has signed a scholarship agreement for the coming years.
Sauer: ‘Excited for his development’

Jochen Sauer, director of youth development: “Maycon joined our U17s at the Campus about a year ago via our international youth programme. After strong performances in the first half of the season for the U19 team, he was promoted to our reserves during the winter break. He was one of the most active players in attack in the two wins over Unterhaching Hankofen. We’re pleased that he will take his next steps together with us and are excited for his continued development.”
Cardozo was born in Brazil on 10 October 2008 and grew up in Thailand, where his father was a professional player. At the age of 10 he joined the STB Sports Thai Bavaria Academy, which works closely with FC Bayern. At the start of 2024, he made it into the Global Academy international U18 side and, and, from June, became a member of the U19 World Squad project based on that team. The start of last year saw the attacking talent switch to the record champions’ U17s, before moving up to the U19s in the summer. After a total of 17 appearances there (five goals, five assists), he was called up to the FC Bayern II squad at the start of this year and was named in the starting line-up in both the 1-0 win against Unterhaching and the 2-0 success against Hankofen-Hailing.
