Following their spectacular 4:3 win over Real Madrid to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, FC Bayern have taken over the top spot in the UEFA ten-year club coefficient rankings. With 280,500 points, the German champions replaced Real Madrid (271,500) as the current leaders, followed by Manchester City (250,500), Paris St. Germain (239,500) and Barcelona (235,250).
FC Bayern CEO Jan Christian Dreesen: "These rankings are no historical coincidence, but further proof of the strength of this club. FC Bayern stands for sustainable sporting performance and, with its clear identity and general orientation, for stability in a time of extremes, in which international football is characterised by investors in many places. We will continue to consistently pursue this path of autonomy and independence."
The ten-year rankings are based on the UEFA coefficient points, which are awarded for every appearance in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League - plus bonus points for reaching the knockout stages through to the final. These points are collected every season and added up over the whole period.
